We are collecting leaves from other classes around the United States. It is just wonderful to have the internet to quickly gather information and form new friends in our wonderful country. We have a large tree in our classroom and when we receive leaves from another state, we add them to our tree.

We went outside and collected fall leaves, pressed, mounted, labeled, and laminated the leaves. We sent a letter with our class photo, some literature about our school and a booklet about our beautiful state of South Dakota to our Leaf Exchange Friends around America. We think South Dakota is a beautiful state to live in.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in due season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsover he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:3

Five Little Leaves

Five little leaves so bright and gay.

Were dancing about on a tree one day.

The wind came blowing through the town.

One little leave came tumbling down.

(Repeat with one leave falling each time.)

Pretty Leaves

Pretty leaves are falling down,

Green,

Yellow,

Orange,

And brown.

Here comes one colored red…

Oops…it landed on my head.

We put our leaves up on our tree that we received from our Leaf Exchange Friends from around the United States. We loved getting all the leaves.
