First Grade Birthdays~2007-2008

Birthdays are very special in first grade.  Each child is crowned

Birthday King or Birthday Queen on the day of his/her birthday.

If you child’s birthday falls on a weekend, you may select another

school day close to the birthday.  Please let me know ahead of time

which day you are selecting.  Please do not send birthday invitations

to school for distribution unless all the children have been invited.

It is not necessary for you to plan activities for the party.

We will light the first grade birthday cake, sing ”Happy Birthday,”

and play birthday games.  It is a great time for your child and one

that they always remember.  Birthdays are very special!!!!

Sometimes children like to donate a library book to our school

library in honor of their birthday. This is optional and certainly your

choice.  If you would like to do this, you may bring the book with you

to the party and we will recognize your gift to the library. Please write

in the front of the book that it is given in honor of your child’s birthday

and the date.

Children with summer birthdays celebrate their “half birthday”

in another month.  June birthdays are celebrated in Dec., July birthdays

are celebrated in Jan., and Aug. birthdays are celebrated in Feb.

Any treat you choose is fine with the children.  Please provide

drinks, cups, and napkins if you bring cupcakes for your child’s birthday.

Please do not bring any red colored drink as it stains the carpet if spilled.

You are most welcome to come for the party, but we do

understand if you can’t make it. The birthday party lasts from

2:30-3:00 on the special day.
