Classroom Management

To keep our classroom an organized and productive place in which to learn, we have established certain rules.  Our classroom is a positive and fun filled place to learn and keeping positive rules makes it run smoothly. Please discuss these rules with your child.

If you have any questions, please contact me.  I appreciate your cooperation and support.

Rules

1.  We are to be respectful of each other in a Christian manner.

2.  All first graders are to obey playground and class rules.

3.  Each child will respect the authority over them.

4.  Children will raise their hand to speak in class and not interrupt others when they are speaking.

5.  Children will not bother or distract others during work time.

If you see someone without a smile, give him or her one of yours.

I Feel Happy Song

(A song we sing)

When someone smiles at me,

I feel like smiling me.

When I see someone looking happy,

I feel happy too.

Happy, happy me,

Happy, happy you.

When I see someone looking happy,

I feel happy too.

Frog Chart

Each child has 6 different colors of frogs in his individual pocket on the class chart.   Each color of frog stands for behavior.  Each child starts the day with a purple frog.  The frog is turned to the next color for misbehavior.  The colors of frogs are the following:

Each child has a monthly behavior calendar that is sent home daily in his/her Going Home Folder. Each child’s calendar is color stamped for behavior each day.    If a child turns his frog  to yellow, green, orange or red  5 times during the month, he/she will not attend the End of the Month Party.  They will go to the office and do assigned work. The calendar is signed daily and sent back to school.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
